Episode 35 – From Capitol Hill to Your Clinic: HSAs and Direct Primary Care

Published on: 29th September, 2025

What if the rules around Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) have been holding patients back from getting the care they want—and the savings they deserve? For years, patients who joined Direct Primary Care (DPC) practices risked losing their HSA eligibility, all because DPC memberships were treated like a “second insurance plan.”

In this eye-opening episode, Dr. Jasper and Patient Zero unpack how new 2025 legislation finally changes the game, making it possible for patients to use their HSA dollars alongside DPC.

🔎 In this episode, they explore:

– What HSAs are and how they’ve been used with high-deductible health plans

– Why DPC memberships created roadblocks for patients in the past

– How the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is reshaping the rules in 2025

– What this means for families, small businesses, and independent clinics moving forward

💡 Key Takeaways:

– Patients in DPC can now keep their HSA eligibility

– HSAs and DPC can work together to lower costs and improve access

– More freedom, more control, and more direct access to your physician is now within reach
