Episode 55 - It’s Not Just a Leg Cramp

Published on: 14th July, 2026

Season 5 closes with Dr. Byron Jasper and co-host PatientZero breaking down blood clots — from deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the leg to the pulmonary embolism (PE) that follows when it's missed. They cover the stats (up to 900,000 Americans affected yearly, DVT missed 40% of the time), the risk factors, the symptoms people write off as a pulled muscle or acid reflux, and the racial disparities that leave Black Americans far more likely to die from these clots. Real patient stories drive it home, and the episode closes with Patient Zero's rant: if your doctor isn't giving you real answers, fire them.
